My Big, Honkin' Yoga Bag

Part of my job involves giving tests to individual kids to see if they qualify as Talented and Gifted. As you can imagine, there's a lot of minutes spent watching kids mark their answers in little bubble sheets. Not a highly exciting part of my job (though I'm not going to complain because I'm so glad that I HAVE a job).

So, I doodle while I'm waiting - a lot of times things I'm daydreaming about things I want to make. Here's what came of my latest doodle:

fabric: August Fields by Amy Butler

It's a big, honkin' bag (14" by 20") to pack all of my yoga stuff in. This is the first time that I something came out the way I envisioned it.

I love the way it turned out, and I think I'll make a few for the shop. This one though is mine to keep. I'm taking it to class tonight!

  1. I love that it's so big and roomy! And the fabric is sweet...what kind of yoga are you practicing?

  2. Oh I love the fabric. And I was giving the WIATIII today and dying from boredom. I'll have to remember to bring along a sketch pad for myself!

  3. Your bag is lovely. Pretty and useful at the same time - a great combination!
I'm like you in that I am always thinking of things to make while at work.

  5. This is a cute bag :)
But importantly, your reverse tie dyed black tank top below is just SO FABULOUS (as you can see, I have no compunction about limiting capitals!) This is a totally awesome outcome. I love it!
Could you share the bleach you used, and how you tied it up? Must be a very strong bleach to get out the black so totally like this...
