Sometimes we just have to do something for ourselves girls! Today, my cousin and I took a lovely walk to the Alberta neighborhood in Portland and stopped by Bolt, one of my favorite fabric stores.
I've been wanting this Colette Pattern for since it came out:
It thrills me that the patterns are produced locally. Here's the sample dress from Colette's website:
My fairy sewing godmother was smiling on me today because:
a) Gertie of Gertie's New Blog for Better Sewing (love her), is having a sew-a-long with this pattern.
b) My dream cotton voile was on a tremendous sale:
|Anna Maria Horner's Little Folks Voile|
I have enough of the voile to make a sash in the same fabric, but wouldn't it be lovely with a grey satin?
Gertie's going to help us with lining the garment and fitting the bodice, so I'm feeling confident about this one (knock on wood). This should be done in time for Christmas.
What a fun day.
Life is good.
